The Bristol Unicorn Trail – Creating the World’s First Wrapped Unicorn
In 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to take part in The Bristol Unicorn Trail, an ambitious public art project where 30 local artists were challenged to transform life-sized unicorn sculptures. These unique pieces were later auctioned to raise money for Leukemia Care, and I knew I wanted to do something that had never been done before.

Creating the World’s First Wrapped Unicorn
Transforming a Unicorn with Cutting-Edge Vinyl, Cosmic Collages, and Bristol’s Urban Spirit for a Worthy Cause

A Bold Idea – The World’s First Wrapped Unicorn
While most artists opted for traditional painting techniques, I wanted to push the boundaries of what was possible. Rather than painting my unicorn, I decided to fully wrap it in vinyl, making it the world’s first vinyl-wrapped unicorn. This approach would allow for a level of detail and complexity that would be difficult to achieve with paint alone.
Bringing the Vision to Life
I was fortunate to be sponsored by Hobs, a cutting-edge print company that provided me with all the materials I needed to bring my vision to life. Not only did they support the project, but they also supplied me with a brand-new type of vinyl, originally developed for wrapping high-end supercars. This ultra-premium material ensured a flawless, high-definition finish and made the unicorn look sleek and futuristic.
The Design – A Cosmic Cityscape
The design featured a full-space collage created using breathtaking Hubble and James Webb telescope images, wrapping around the unicorn’s entire form. The midsection was adorned with my signature Bristol cityscape artwork, blending elements of urban architecture with cosmic imagery. Each side of the unicorn had a different piece, ensuring that no matter the angle, there was always something new to discover.
A Fan Favorite & A Huge Success
The reaction to the piece was incredible. Many people described it as one of the standout designs of the entire trail, and it quickly became a fan favorite. With so many talented artists from Bristol’s renowned creative scene participating, I was honored to see my unicorn sell as the third highest-priced piece in the auction, raising around £5,000 for Leukemia Care.
Final Thoughts
This project was an absolute blast to be a part of. It was fun, challenging, and a perfect blend of innovation, art, and charity. It also reinforced my love for pushing creative boundaries and finding new ways to apply digital art to physical spaces.
I’m grateful to Hobs for their support, to Leukemia Care for the incredible cause, and to everyone who followed the trail and engaged with the artwork. Here’s to more projects that bring art to unexpected places and make a real impact!
